Private Health Funds and HICAPS

Claiming your private health fund rebate is easy with on the spot claims through HICAPS for all private health funds. Bring your health fund card with you to your appointment and we will claim on the spot, this means you only have to pay the gap on the day.

Afterpay

Afterpay is a new payment method that allows you to pay off your treatment in four fortnightly interest-free installments.

Aged Pension Discount

We offer a 10% discount on general dentistry for patients with a current aged pension concession card.

Interest Free Payment Plans

For eligible patients with a treatment plan of $400 or more, there is the option to spread the cost of treatment over easy to manage fortnightly payments with National Dental Plan.

Child Dental Benefits Schedule

Jones Dental proudly supports the CDBS scheme by bulk billing treatment for eligible children.

NSW Oral Health Fee for Service Scheme

We accept Emergency Care and General Dental Care NSW Health Vouchers issued by the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

Department of Veteran Affairs

We bulk bill treatment for Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) Gold Card holders.

Child Dental Benefits Schedule

Jones Dental proudly supports the CDBS scheme by bulk billing treatment for eligible children.

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule, or CDBS, is a Medicare funded program providing $1,098 of free dental benefits to children aged 2-17 who meet the eligibility criteria. This $1,098 is valid every two calendar years and continues until the child is over 17 years of age. The CDBS scheme covers a range of services, including examinations, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, fissure sealants and extractions. CDBS does not cover orthodontics, cosmetic dental treatment and mouthguards.

Eligibility basics:

Children and teenagers aged 2 to 17 years old
Eligible for Medicare
Receiving an eligible payment for at least 1 day of the calendar year

National Dental Plan

National Dental Plan (NDP) powered by Certegy Ezi-Pay makes the highest quality dental treatment more accessible. With NDP you could start up to $9,000 in treatments today and spread the cost over easy to manage fortnightly payments Best of all, you pay No Interest Ever!

One of the great benefits of NDP is that you never pay interest on the amount you owe. You will pay an establishment fee of $70 to set up your account, and this is payable over the term of the plan. There is a monthly account keeping fee of $3.50 which will be direct debited whilst your account remains active and a $2.95 payment processing fee that is included with each fortnightly payment. You know exactly how much you will get charged as long as you stick with your payment schedule – No Interest Ever!

How do I make a claim under the CDBS?

At Jones Dental we bulk bill for all eligible children under CDBS. This means you don’t need to submit a claim with Medicare, we do it all for you.

When you book your child’s appointment our receptionist will ask for their Medicare information so we can confirm eligibility. On the day make sure to bring your child’s Medicare card to the appointment so we can bulk bill. At the appointment your dentist will discuss with you your child’s treatment, costs and item restrictions. We will get you to sign a consent form agreeing to the services and acknowledge that the cost will be bulk billed, with no out of pocket expense. We then put the claim through to Medicare for you.

At Jones Dental we bulk bill for all eligible children under CDBS. This means you don’t need to submit a claim with Medicare, we do it all for you.

What services are available under the NDP?

There are no limitations on the types of dental services provided under NDP, however the total cost of treatment must be at least $400 and any amount up to $9000 can be approved for required dental treatment.

Your dentist will work with you to formulate a treatment plan based on your individual clinical and oral health needs.

How can I check if my child is eligible for CDBS?

Our receptionists can check for you if your child is eligible for the CDBS scheme. Simply call our surgery, provide us with your child’s current Medicare information and we can call Medicare for you.

Alternatively, you can check your child’s eligibility and current CDBS balance using your Medicare online account through My Gov or calling the Medicare general enquiries line on 132 011.
